Panucci - A audiobook and podcast player

With Panucci, you can play audio books, podcasts and live concerts. It will automatically resume the playback from the position where you stopped last time. Bookmarks are also supported. The interface has elements big enough to be used with your fingers. If you installed support for screen rotation, Panucci does support portrait mode in addition to landscape mode.

Oh, and Panucci integrates well with gPodder :)

Installing Panucci on the Nokia N800 and N810

Panucci is available for the Nokia N800 and N810 in Maemo Extras.

Use the Application Manager to install it from Panucci on maemo.org.

Support for the Nokia 770 and OS2007

New versions of Panucci are only available for OS2008 onwards, as this is the earliest version that the autobuilder supports. With a bit of work, you should be able to compile Panucci for OS2007 and earlier on your own. We will be glad to answer any questions you have.

Getting the code

Panucci used to be hosted using Garage's SVN service but has since moved onto using a Git repo hosted offsite.

Clone the repository using git: git clone git://git.nikosapi.org/panucci.git
Download a snapshot of the master branch: BZ2, GZ or ZIP

The current production release is available in source format from the command prompt inside the Maemo 4.1 SDK:

  apt-get source panucci

Dependency Installation This is handy for testing; if you are installing from Maemo Extras this is unnecessary.

  apt-get install python2.5-gtk2 python2.5-gstreamer python2.5-dbus \
    python2.5-hildon python2.5-gnome python2.5-mutagen python2.5-osso \
    gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-faad gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-mad \
    ogg-support
