Panucci Audiobook and Podcast Player

With Panucci, you can play audio books, podcasts and live concerts. It will automatically resume the playback from the position where you stopped last time. Bookmarks are also supported. The interface has elements big enough to be used with your fingers. And it integrates well with gPodder.

How to install on the N800 and N810 with OS2008

Panucci is available for OS2008 in Maemo Extras for Diablo (Maemo 4.1)

Use the Application Manager to install Panucci or go here: Maemo app page

Support for OS2008 (Chinook) or earlier

New versions of Panucci are only available for Maemo 4.1 (Diablo). We do not have older devices to test on, and we do not have the necessary SDKs set up. Sorry! If you want to help, please get in touch. We would be very happy to provide packages for these older versions of the Tablet OS, but are currently lacking manpower and time.

Getting the code

Panucci used to be hosted using Garage's SVN service but has since moved onto using a Git repo hosted offsite.

• Clone the repository using git: git clone git://git.nikosapi.org/panucci.git
• Download a snapshot of the master branch: BZ2, GZ or ZIP

Dependency Installation

This is handy for testing; if you are installing from Maemo Extras this is unnecessary.

apt-get install python2.5-gtk2 python2.5-gstreamer python2.5-dbus \
    python2.5-hildon python2.5-gnome python2.5-mutagen python2.5-osso \
    gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-faad gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-mad ogg-support
